cambiasso-mascherano

What are the odds. Two of the best holding midfielders in the world, Cambiasso & Mascherano, maybe the best in the world, and they both play for Argentina. A team built around South American attacking flair.

Argentina are very fortunate to have Cambiasso Mascherano in the first 11, even more fortunate to have Gago as standby. Cambiaso is slightly better than Mascherano because he scores more goals, work rate is the same but i favour mascherano, maybe because he's younger.

then why did cambiasso choke when they played against us?

i havent really followed him in serie a to be honest, so i dont know how good he's been there...

but i wasnt very impressed with him in the CL .. j.zanetti was far more superior.

but zanetti doesnt play holding midfield. Cambiasso is talented for sure- he even played for Real and won either the CL or La Liga before moving to Inter. Dont forget we played against 10 men for most of the game in the away leg.

yeah.. i agree

I guess he really found himself playing for inter

the more i think of real, the more i get sick

that team is a toxic waste dump

if it wasnt for zizu, i would actually HATE the club.

anyway.. we'll see how much they improve next season

i see juve going up the ladder.. and ac going down (unless they spend a fortune)

Personally I like Gattuso and Pirlo for Italy. Gattuso does the dirty work while Pirlo controls the game.

The only knock on Mascherano is he doesn't have the same influence as some players. He doesn't control the ball very much and his passing is very average. What he does do extremely well is win the ball. That is why Alonso and him work very well together. They are the Gattuso/Pirlo of the Premiership if you will.

My favorite is of course Hargreaves. His performance vs Portugal at the World Cup was maybe the best invidiual performance at the tournament. He was pure class.

Maradona: Liverpool's Mascherano monster player

Diego Maradona regards Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano as one of Argentina's best young talents. "Of all the youngsters to have come through from Argentina in recent years, he's the one who impresses me the most," he said. "He's a monster of a player and destined for greater things."

Mascherano passes the ball much better than Gattuso- and only milan fans would dispute that. He's nearly finished now Gattuso.. his performances this season have been average.
