yeah.. the man is gifted.. and the french really need him.

what would i give to have him back for euro 08 and play italy in the finals again Very Happy hahaha

i wonder if he'd make a good manager...

he has the talent, and brains.... but i dont think he has the charisma to properly motivate the players "outside" the pitch.

the guy is a legend as far as im concerned, only behind maradona and pele.

he wouldnt have got there if he didnt have a strong personality, mattarazi is no joke.. i remember he smashed sorin's nose when inter played Villareal a few seasons ago.. and you can see the fear in gattuso's eyes when zidane flipped on matterazi the prick.

i would love to see zidane v italy again. sadly i'l never see it happen again

i miss that guy for real. Definitely an inspiration for any football fan.

he's bout 22/23, plays as a holdin midfielder, great sense of positioning and solid in tackles, given those factors i would have thought he's worth bout 15 mill.

definitely the new makalele, has over 50 caps for his country, which is crazy for a man his age

he just wanted a place where he felt loved. and unfortunately nothing compares to the 6 yrs he spent with boca, he is literally regarded as a LEGEND, second only to the one and only maradona (and thats a fact by the way)

i wouldnt call his stunt in europe as unsuccessful, for 3 seasons he achieved so much in europe with a team smaller than wigan.. not bad at all.

i cannot begin to tell you how sad i feel now that he left europe, people talk about kaka messi aguero ronaldo but believe you me, i have not seen a player in the world with the passing to go with game intelligence since zidane. truly sad loss for european football.

yeah.. i kinda feel the same

he was one of very few players that could orchestrate a good attack from the back... lead the way.. and sometimes even score.

Zidane: Messi Can Get Even Better

Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane stated today his excitement at how Barcelona star Lionel Messi is progressing...

The former French international spoke to Argentine newspaper La Nacion about Messi's recent fortunes.

"I'm surprised at him," said Zizou.

"What strikes me most about him is what he manages to do today despite his young age.

"Those things are incredible. And if he's doing them at his age, imagine what he can do in the future."

He added, "He's a pleasure to watch on the pitch, and to see him injured like this is a pity.

"When he's not around, we realise just how much his team suffers."

The Marseille-born attacking midfielder closed by touching on the fortunes of Juan Roman Riquelme.

"He's a great player," enthused the 35-year-old.

"He's doing well in Argentina, and that's good for him and for football. He
didn't give everything he could in Spain, but that's not his fault."

Argentina's always had loads and loads of talent, but is it possible the actual group is the most talented argentian group ever?

Messi, Aguero, Mascherano, Tevez, Maxi , Heinze, Zanetti, Cambiasso, Rodriguez, RIquelme, Saviola, Milito

What a group!

Maradona: Agüero Is A Warrior

Diego Maradonadiscussed his son-in-law Sergio Agüero among other topics in an appearance on the Mañanas Informales show on Argentine television on Tuesday.

The show marked the return of the series following the death of host
Jorge Ariel Guinzburg in March, and Maradona admitted that he was sad
to have lost a good friend.

"He was the type that always says things up front. A great friend," he reminisced.
Discussion soon turned to football, and the fact that Boca Juniors are on the verge of being knocked out of the Copa Liberatdores at the group stage.

"In Mexico (a 3-1 loss to Atlas) we did not play. We are what we are, that
is how it is," he stated, with the host quickly moving onto the next
topic to avoid Maradona elaborating further on his frustrations.

Maradona wishes to be part of Argentina's convoy that heads to the Olympic Games in Beijing later his year and thinks he can play a role in motivating their athletes to success.

"I want to live with the athletes day-to-day. I would like to show encouragement to Manu Ginóbili (basketball player)... it is something I had discussed with Jorge in the past," he explained.

Finally, Maradona was asked about his new son-in-law Sergio Agüero.

"I am proud because he is a warrior. I see similarities to me. He is very
determined with a lot of desire, which I realized when I went to see
him in Spain... against Valencia he scored a golazo," he concluded.
